Vision

Chirp Light AG was founded as a spin-off from ams OSRAM based in the Zurich area of Switzerland. Our vision is to use our disruptive 4D FMCW LIDAR technology to promote optical speed sensing and enable robust navigation. Our mission is to make our optical sensor robust, efficient, and cost-effective without compromising the performances.

Jens GEIGER, founder

Jens filled several management positions in SMEs and large companies before founding Chirp Light. He started his career as group leader at the research institute Fraunhofer ILT from where he transitioned to the laser machine building company Rofin-LASAG as Head of research and development.

Moving from industrial to consumer market, he joined Heptagon in 2012 to lead the optical sensor development for tier 1 customers in the mobile phone business. Through acquisitions, he then came to ams OSRAM, first in the role of deputy business line manager and later transitioned to work on disruptive technologies in the Innovation Office.

As a management expert, Jens is in charge to execute our ambitious plans to deliver world-class products to our customers.

Laurent NEVOU, founder

Laurent cumulates many years of experiences in the field of opto-electronics. After his PhD in France he joined Pr. Faist at ETH Zurich as PostDoc to continue academic research in the III-V semi-conductor opto-devices. Laurent has decided to continue his career in the industry and joined Espros Photonics as technology engineer in the CMOS TOF camera field. Finally, he joined ams, which became ams-OSRAM, as System architect and then technical project lead for various optical sensors.

Working at the cutting edge technology, Laurent has produced more than 20 academic articles as well as more than 20 patents in the field of optoelectronics sensors.

As a technical expert, Laurent is in charge to bring our disruptive technology to a real product that fits to customers needs.
